Here's a tale about Twitter, auto bailouts and the Super Bowl, brought to you by two Republicans.
The first is from freshman Rep. Dennis Ross, R-Fla., who wasn't wowed by Eminem's plug for Chrysler and his hometown, Detroit.
"Imported from Detroit," Ross tweeted, using the tagline of the Chrysler ad. Then he said: "Borrowed from China."
That's a rap from Ross on the federal government's bailout of Chrysler. During the 2010 campaign, the lawyer and former Florida state legislator reportedly said it would have been better if Chrysler and General Motors had been reorganized through extended bankruptcy instead of getting government help and adding to the nation's debt.
Then there are the tweets from former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum, who is thinking of running for president next year.
Santorum, who used to represent Pittsburgh suburbs in the U.S. House, flew to Dallas to watch Super Bowl XLV after speaking at events honoring Ronald Reagan.
His Twitter account -- @RickSantorum -- gives followers a view of the agony for any Steelers fan. "This is painful," Santorum tweeted. (We'll guess that was during the first half when Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was picked off twice.)
And then this, borrowed from President Obama: "Yes we can!" (Perhaps tweeted during the Steelers comeback after halftime.)
Alas, the Green Bay Packers won the game, 31-25.
